Movie
Today we watched a cooking safety movie as Ms George was away. It was interesting and I learnt a lot. We completed a safety sheet that taught me some valuable lessons.
Nachos
Today we made nachos. It was interesting as we used a dip that was vegetarian. Though I felt it way to much sour cream.
Chilli con queso
Ingredients
•
1 tomato
•
30g butter
•
1 small brown onion, finely chopped
•
½ tsp crushed chilli
•
1 garlic clove, crushed
•
300g ctn sour cream
•
160g (2 cups) coarsely grated cheddar
•
tbs chopped fresh coriander
•
200gm corn chips to serve
Method
Step 1
Use a sharp knife to cut a small cross at the base of the tomato. Place in a heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Set aside for 2-3 minutes to soften. Transfer to a chopping board. Carefully remove skin. Discard. Cut tomato into quarters. Finely chop the flesh.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook onion and chilli, stirring, for 5 minutes or until soft but not coloured. Add garlic. Cook, stirring, for 30 seconds or until aromatic.
Step 3
Stir in the sour cream and cheddar. Cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes or until the cheddar melts. Stir in the tomato and coriander. Transfer to a heatproof serving bowl and serve with corn chips.
Chocolate Truffles
In this lesson we made chocolate truffles. They were delicious! Though I feel they needed longer to set in the fridge. Sophie and I worked great and it was a great day!
Yummy!

Sophies Muffin
Sophie made her muffins today. She added cocoa, red colouring and white chocolate. Today we worked well but I burnt myself badly and it really hurt. I had a lot of fun though!
Muffin Making
We tried a recipe for our muffins. It was good because I got to know how much time management and what ingredients will be nessecary. Sophie and I worked well and we felt we will be great when we do our assignments.

Tacos
We made tacos last week and they were delicious! We prepared the meat which was probably the most complicated recipe yet. Here was the recipe:
Mexican beef tacos
Serves: 2
Ingredients
•
6 taco shells
•
2 teaspoons olive oil
•
250g lean beef mince
•
¼ tsp chilli powder
•
½ tsp garlic
•
1/3 cup tomato paste
•
1 tsp soy sauce
•
½ cup water
•
½ onion chopped
They were very delicious. We worked well together although Sophie was undecided on how the water was added but in the end the meat was very nice. This was a great meal to make.
