Movie
Today we watched a cooking safety movie as Ms George was away. It was interesting and I learnt a lot. We completed a safety sheet that taught me some valuable lessons.
Nachos
Today we made nachos. It was interesting as we used a dip that was vegetarian. Though I felt it way to much sour cream.
Chilli con queso
Ingredients
•
1 tomato
•
30g butter
•
1 small brown onion, finely chopped
•
½ tsp crushed chilli
•
1 garlic clove, crushed
•
300g ctn sour cream
•
160g (2 cups) coarsely grated cheddar
•
tbs chopped fresh coriander
•
200gm corn chips to serve
Method
Step 1
Use a sharp knife to cut a small cross at the base of the tomato. Place in a heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Set aside for 2-3 minutes to soften. Transfer to a chopping board. Carefully remove skin. Discard. Cut tomato into quarters. Finely chop the flesh.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook onion and chilli, stirring, for 5 minutes or until soft but not coloured. Add garlic. Cook, stirring, for 30 seconds or until aromatic.
Step 3
Stir in the sour cream and cheddar. Cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes or until the cheddar melts. Stir in the tomato and coriander. Transfer to a heatproof serving bowl and serve with corn chips.
Chocolate Truffles
In this lesson we made chocolate truffles. They were delicious! Though I feel they needed longer to set in the fridge. Sophie and I worked great and it was a great day!

Sophies Muffin
Sophie made her muffins today. She added cocoa, red colouring and white chocolate. Today we worked well but I burnt myself badly and it really hurt. I had a lot of fun though!
Muffin Making
We tried a recipe for our muffins. It was good because I got to know how much time management and what ingredients will be nessecary. Sophie and I worked well and we felt we will be great when we do our assignments.

Quiches
Today we made quiches. They were the nicest food I had ever tasted. I worked we'll with Sophie today. Our chopping up was fast and efficient. We used the right amount of ingredients as well. The puff pastry was sticky and too thawed. Though I mad a design that acted as a barrier that made them delicious. We used these ingredients:
2 sheets puff pastry- thawed
2 spring onions-chopped
2 slices ham- sliced thinly into strips
½ cup grated cheese
2 eggs
½ cup cream or milk
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
Chewy Chocolate Slice!
We made chewy chocolate slice which was so delicious! We made these chocolatey crumbly slice that set in the fridge over night. The ingredients were as followed:
125 gm melted butter
1 cup (220gm) brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup (75gm) plain flour
¼ cup (35 gm) SR flour
2 tbl cocoa powder
½ cup (40gm) desiccated coconut
1 tbl shredded coconut
Pikelets!
Pikelts were our next cooking endeavour. This was the day when we didn't work well together at all. We weren't great at cleaning and left it all until the end so we were a bit late. Although somehow my likeliest were delicious and perfect! I might even try this recipe at home one day!
Bruschetta!
We made bruschetta in hospitality today! It was yummy! Sophie and I worked well with the cutting up. What we didn't do so well was cut the bread. We added lots of salt and pepper and that made it so nice! I really loved this lesson

Fruit Salad
Today we made a fruit salad in Hospotality the fruit was chosen due to its season. I think we worked well with cleaning up and using the knives. I think we needed to chop the fruit smaller and more neatly though. They were to chunky and less appetising to eat. Overall it was a great lesson and I can't wait until Monday for the next Hospotality lesson!
SMOOTHIES!
We made berry smoothies in Hospotality. We added strawberries, ice, milk, yogurt, and mango! They were really nice. I learnt hat the blenders work better once you have blended then you mix it around before blending again. Sophie and I worked we'll together and had a lot of fun making them!
